AudioPass
(Beta)
A virtual microphone app for Linux that plays local audio files into apps and games as microphone input. Use file audio on its own, or mix it with your live mic to speak over it.
How it works
AudioPass creates a virtual microphone and sets it as the system default input. All you need to do is choose a track to play. Discord, Zoom and other apps/games listening to the default input mic then receive the audio transmitted by AudioPass.
Features
Manage playback in AudioPass, control transmitted volume, optionally blend your live microphone into the output and/or choose to play the track locally for yourself simultaneously.
Local file
Choose audio from disk, build a track list, and control playback, repeat, and local (your own) & transmit volumes.
AudioPass mic
Route file audio (and optionally combine it with your physical mic) to the virtual microphone.
Voice Chat Apps
Set Discord, Zoom, or a video game voice chat's voice input to the system default microphone, and it hears AudioPass.
Requirements
AudioPass is a Linux app and needs PipeWire to function for virtual microphone routing. A more complete list of requirements can be found on the itch.io app page.
System
AudioPass should work with most modern Linux distros that come with PipeWire.
Audio devices
You need at least one audio output device and at least one audio input device connected to the system.
Download
AudioPass is currently still a work-in-progress and is available for download on itch.io only (...for now).
